Teodone Museum of Popular Art near Brunico
A people with a heart & with a sense of connection to where they live
How did South Tyrolean people used to live and what has changed about life in the mountains over the centuries? The Museum of Popular Art in Teodone near Brunico knows the answer to this question and recounts the history of the peoples of the Ahrntal and Pustertal Valleys in an exhibition.
The different lifestyles of peasants and the aristocracy are shown impressively. Central to this is the Baroque residence Mair am Hof with its splendid rooms, folk collection and the adjoining agricultural buildings and their numerous agricultural implements.
Out in the open terrain various old farmhouses await as do the craft workshops – which have an atmosphere of times past.
